Purpose
→To investigate and understand the present and actual condition of English classroom led by native English-teacher in Korean public schools
→To find the reasons why the English class led by native English-teachers is ineffective for many students and present solutions to these problems
Invitation of Native English-Teachers
To concentrate English learning in speaking & listening rather than concentrating mainly on grammar
Starting from the year 1995, the Ministry of Education invited foreigners as the native English-teachers to Korea
From 2005, 5year-plan of extending and increasing the number of native English-teachers so that every public schools from elementary to high school will have native English teachers
According to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, currently, there are about 9000 native English-teachers in Korea
