ⅰ. Background and necessity of the study
Safety management becomes a growing issue in the aspect of recent business administration. It helps to upgrade the quality of worker’s life and to reduce the financial loss.
The remarkable point is that there is little change in the strength rate, which represents damage scale from lack of labor – this labor loss is caused by accidents - per hour, among the industrial disaster indexes. The unchanged strength rate means that the seriousness of each accident is getting bigger because the frequency of disaster occurrence is being reduced by increasing interest and management.

There are serious problems such as a lowering will to work or destroyed family caused by damages like worker’s death. Therefore, it is necessary to have specific analysis focusing on heavy industrial disasters. However, most of the past studies dealt with analysis for entire industrial disasters and only small part of the whole is for death problem, which is one of the heavy disasters. In this sense, this study will analyze several problems related to death accidents by using 13096 death accidents occurring within 5 years, and investigate the structure of disasters and its features by using potential risk factors.
