I. Introduction
As the number of children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is increasing these days, ADHD has been a huge issue in Korean education. Children with ADHD have tendency to be hyperactive, impulsive and have excessive difficulty sustaining attention. So they are often considered to be “problematic children” and to learn less effectively because of their symptoms. However, children with ADHD can pay attention to things that they are interested in, and it can even lasts for long period of time, which is defined as hyperfocusing (Sacks, 2005: 129-169)
Parents tend to medicate their children too easily when they show few features of ADHD even though it needs to be considered carefully. Our group thought that they need something more than medication and made alternative school for ADHD children in Seoul. It is elementary school and we particularly organized math class for first grade.
