1. 서론
펌프란 원동기로부터 기계적 에너지를 받아서, 액체에 운동 및 압력에너지를 주어 액체의 위치를 바꾸어 주는 기계이다. 펌프의 작용은 흡입과 토출에 의해 이루어진다. 흡입작용은 펌프내를 진공상태로 만들어 흡상시키는 것으로, 표준기압 상태에서 이론적으로 10.33[m]까지 흡입시킬 수 있다.
