INT. CAGE
We are a lab mouse.
Our world is a cage; the laboratory beyond the wire mesh
has the sprawling limitlessness of a universe with dark
endless voids and immense technological instruments
gleaming with celestial light.
We can hear a WOMANS VOICE though we cant understand
what she is saying.
There are several other lab mice in
circling his head.
VOICE (O.S.)
Cut, cut, cut!
The cartoon action stops abruptly, but the goofy CARTOON
MUSIC PLAYS ON. We begin a slow PULL BACK TO REVEAL that
this cartoon is being filmed LIVE ON A SOUND STAGE. The
title card sits on an easle. The female legs are paper
mache props manipulated by two HUMAN CREW MEMBERS. Wearily,
they lean the legs up against the stage wall. A human

CIRCLE
They look to one another and a moment of pure magic passes
between them. Its not usual the exhilaration of flight theyre
sharing, it s the exhilaration of togetherness, of being part
of a team.
TOMMY
Lets BREAK!!
They disperse and yank their rip-cords. The sky BURSTS TO LIFE
WITH SIX BLOSSOMING PARACHUTES -- white, pink, blue, yellow ,
red and black in color.
7 EXT. ANGEL GROVE PARK - DAY
circle about them and numbers of
small animals scamper shyly at their heels.
LILI
You promised!
JACK
Never.
LILI
But you did... you did!
JACK
I may have said perhaps...
LILI
Liar!
JACK
Or perchance...
The distant BLARE of a hunting horn interrupts them. The
animals freeze, wild-eyed.
LILI
Its my father, gone a-hunting. The
Baron Couer de Noir is his guest and
must be provided with some sport.
