기체의 온도, 압력, 부피 사이의 관계식을 상태방정식이라고 한다. 이상기체인 경우에는 간단한 형태의 관계식인 이상기체상태방정식(Ideal gas law)이다. 하지만 실제로 존재하는 기체들은 분자들의 부피가 0이 아니고, 기체 분자간에 상호작용하기 때문에 이상기체상태방정식을 따르지 않는다.

우리는 가장 먼저 프로젝트를 본격적으로 수행하기에 앞서 배정받은 물질인 Ethylene Oxide의 Pure Compound로서의 기본적인 특성들과 더불어 실제로 우리가 물질을 다루는데 있어서 필요한 합성방법과 취급 안정성에 대해 조사함으로써 실제 실험 시 필요한 기본적인 정보를 취합 정리해 보았다.

The main purpose of conducting this thermodynamics design project
is to determine the relationship between three gas laws which are the
Ideal gas law, Van Der Waals equation of state and Redlich-Kwongequation

we can simply find out the relationship between those three gas laws.
