개인소비자들은 여러 제품을 구매하는데 이와 같은 구매행동은 구매 당시의 특정 요구를 충족하기 위한 것이다. 소비자는 어떠한 요구가 발생하면 이를 충족 시켜줄 수단을 이용 정보를 탐색하게 되며 자신의 기억 속에 고유한 관련 정보를 자연스럽게 회상하기도 한다.
