loadprocess fruit into the receiving plant……” From his comment, we know that problems of overtime costs and excessive waiting time have caused. Followings are the major cause and recommended solutions we came up with to the problems.
2) Capacity & Problem Analysis
I. Capacity Analysis
RP1 was highly mechanized. The process could be classified into several operations : receivin
loaded into bulk trucks (200 bbls. per hour per dryer) and for those that were expected to be bagged (150 bbls. per hour per dryer). The latter ones had to be much drier since they could stick together when frozen because the bags would dry up all the moist. The other dry berries were held in bins 1-16. They would go through one of the three destoning units (processing up to 1500 bbls.) and then
process was highly mechanized in many ways and was classified into several operations: receiving and testing, dumping, temporary holding, de-stoning, de-chaffing, drying, separation, and bulking and bagging.
B) Process Fruit Receiving
At the beginning of the process of RP1, bulk trucks that carry process berries arrived randomly. Prior to unloading, they were weighted and recorded, and 30lbs
loads them and sends them onward, without storage.
