IT IS DARK. The BOY fishes out his trusty Zippo lighter from a
leather shoulder pouch and flicks it to life. The weak orange
light shallowly penetrates the dark.
INT. BACK WALL OF CAVERN - JUST AFTER
The BOY eases his way along, holding the Z
stone walk leads to a swimming pool filled with
brackish water and lily pads. A wrought-iron fence encircles the grounds. on the other side,
the street seems like another world.
BACK TO CARLOTTA AND DIEDRE ON THE PORCH CARLOTTA takes a syringe from a bag and injects
DIEDRE, who shows no reaction. CARLOTTA feels her pulse...

STONE SPIRALING STAIRS, up up up in what we now see
is a medieval cathedral. And as we continue MOVING UP
something TRICKLES DOWN INTO FRAME - BLOOD. Running thin,
then thicker, as we CONTINUE TO MOVE UP the stairs and find -
A BODY, sprawled awkwardly across the stones, arms and legs
akimbo, not so much Christ-like as victim-like. In one hand
