Lipopolysaccharides (LPS), also known as lipoglycans,
are large molecules consisting of a lipid and a polysaccharide
joined by a covalent bond; they are found in the outer
membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, act as endotoxins and
elicit strong immune responses in animals.
LPS is the major component of the outer membrane of
Gram-negative bacteria, contributing greatly to the structu
cell cycle dependent kinase에 의해 phosphorylation된 상태로 정지되어 있으면 G1단계에 머물러 있게 된다. 하지만 cell growth signal에 의한 phosphatase에 의해 dephosphorylation되면 E2F와 binding하여 여러 DNA synthesis protein과 regulation protein을 transcription시키게 된다. 대표적인 protein으로는 myc, cdc2, DNA polymerase α, ARF등이 있다.
