Susan Glaspell의 연극, Trifles는 Provincetown, Massachusetts에서 Eugene O'Neil의 (whom who was also a member) "Bound East for Cardiff" 이후에 공연되었던 작품이다. Glaspell 개인적으로는 남편의 부탁을 받고 쓴 작품이지만, 시대적으로 보면 그 때 있었던 일을 바탕으로 쓰여진 이야기이다.
