Variable selection
Our group started to think about the various factors that can be representative of the socio-economic elements considering the interrelationship with IQ scores. Finally, we selected 8 variables to explain the differences of IQ scores among the countries: GDP per capita, happiness index, duration of education, life expectancy, urbanization, corruption perception index, CO2 em
Researchers have often focused on homicide rates in developed countries.
How to control the frequency of homicide rates in developing and least developed countries?
Suggestions
Reinforce the police forces in response to changes in their economic activity rates and the proportion of seniors.
Regulate the immoderate alchohol consumption.
More attention needs to be paid for African countrie
countries. Since there are countless possible variables which can have an effect on the rates and we are not sure which of them can best account for the homicide rates, we decide to collect the data as much as possible and compare each variable by selection procedures. Finally, we will suggest what factors should be taken care of for developing countries in order to control their homicide rates.
hundred students who are currently enrolled as Korea university undergraduate students were chosen for this research. After thoroughly validating standard assumptions of the regression model, we eventually chose stepwise method to finalize our model. Finally, we were able to statistically test our original conjecture of the relationship among variables and also verify our faulty expectations.
