In this paper, we report the successful aspect ratio control ofgold nanorods bythe seed-mediated method, along with an improvement inthe yield. Two major parameters were controlled to optimize the growth properties ofthegold nanorods, namely their kinetics and anisotropic growth. Inthe case ofthe first parameter, we observed that slowing the growth oftheAu nanorods increases their aspect
by radially oriented nanorods with 6-fold structural symmetry. Fig. 1(f) shows the side-wall image of hierarchical ZnO nanostructure with widths of 70–-120 nm and average length of around 600 nm.
