mugging for it, bends to snuff his cigarette in an ashtray.
SPLICE-JUMP TO/STEP PRINT: a Harlequin CLOWN ties balloon
animals. Nicholas assists, distracted by the inattentive
children who look into the camera and pull hair an
length.
Lucky Arrow is second by three quarters.
Stopwatch, coming up on the outside,
is third by a length and a quarter.

Dis-mount!
RIDERS climb down from their mounts... and only now do we realize that this is a TROOP OF BOY SCOUTS, all of them about thirteen years of age. The "Commanding Officer" is only their SCOUTMASTER, Mr. Havelock.
One of the Scouts, a pudgy kid named HERMAN, steps away from his horse, bends over and pukes. The other Scouts rag on him.
FIRST SCOUT
Hermans horsesick!
STEPS recede and a DOOR SLAM. Roger turns confidently
back to his charge. But the little tyke is already squeezing
through the playpen bars.
BABY HERMAN
Baby bye-bye...
Roger makes a dive for him, misses, and gets his head stuck
between the bars. He pleads with the Baby in a voice that
resonates of Huntz Hall in "The Bowery Boys".
ROGER RABBIT
Hey, come back! You heard what your
mother said!
BABY
Blackness. Then a hint of green becomes EARTH. It lies across an expanse of space. Richly colored. Fertile.
A GIGANTIC ASTEROID cuts into frame, Burning into EARTHS ATMOSPHERE and striking down in the currant area of Guzumel, Mexico.
Voice : An impact equivalent to ten thousand nuclear weapons detonating simultaneously.
A HUGE DINOSAUR FOOT steps down hard and is VAPORIZED with a deafening ROAR.
step outside into a flood of light. In answer, the LOW PUFF of a SILENCER.
Only the plaza pigeons notice. As they take flight...
A man lies dead on the cobblestones. And as we look UP TOWARD the window, theres nothing there. The pigeons wheel above the plaza. We FOLLOW, finally losing them to the sky. SLOWLY that sky BLEEDS from gray to blue.
And as we PAN BACK DOWN...

In the air, the rider and motorcycle twist violently as they fly by.

Though mentioned often in the script, the creatures in PITCH BLACK are
seldom seen at length; rather, they are glimpsed, they are heard, they are
felt. They are, really, the embodiment of your nocturnal fears: A howling
coyote that jars you awake; the painting on the wall that comes to life
step over a human skeleton... creepy!
Deakins pulls aside vines using a compass to follow the map.
Pulls a vine away from his face.
Not a vine...

DEAKINS
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
Jumps back, and we see that hes NOT Indiana Jones.
KEN DEAKINS is a college freshman with a confident manner and
