EXT. HANCOCK TOWER, CHICAGO - LATE NIGHT
Lake Shore Drive. Four oclock in the morning. Minimal traffic,
minimal life. As MAIN TITLES BEGIN, we PAN UP the face of...
...Hancock Tower. Up, up, forty floors, sixty, eighty, very dark
up here, street sounds fading fast, and as CREDITS CONTINUE we
stone, one-story, u-shaped house.
The house has a flat, tile roof and an unusual, wooden rain
gutter, with windows outlined in black and a prayer flag in
the courtyard. A spotted dog is in front of the house,
barking, though we cannot hear him. The vision becomes
completely clear, for an instant - clear enough to see the
face of a young boy at the window.

BLACK -- MORE TITLES -- then
GUNSHOTS -- Blood sprays across the glass of a picture frame --
obscures the photo inside.
BLACK -- MORE TITLES -- then
THE SURFACE OF A SPARKLING SEA -- a distant emerald island. A
40-foot sloop APPEARS -- shapes on deck -- we are about to SEE --
BLACK -- MORE TITLES -- then
SHARKS -- underwater -- rip something into a bloody cloud.
END MAIN TITLES.

THE BALLROOM
Short Round enters and stares across the smoky nightclub. On the stage, he sees a giant paper-mache dragon laying curled around the pagoda.
Now, the dragons eyes light up, its nostrils exhale smoke and its enormous jaws open. Out of the dragons mouth walks the star of the stage show:
WILLIE SCOTT, a dreamy beauty singing a sultry solo white the orchestra wails the accompaniment.
