The Restaurant industry ratio for the most recent year is 20.7. Although McDonald’s receivable turnover ratio is decreasing in 2009 but is still above the industry average. This means that, in 2009, average collection period of McDonald’s is 16days (365/22.8) while for average restaurant industry it takes 17.6days. Compare to other companies, McDonald’s account turnover ratio is similar to industry average this may be due to the fact that McDonald’s is a stable and well established representative company of restaurant industry.

-Additional disclosure concerning the allowance for doubtful accounts could not be found. However, generally allowance for doubtful accounts is the provision for doubtful accounts. It reflects the company’s credit ratings. It is because when contra asset increases net account receivables decrease, resulting the decrease of assets as well. This all in all causes the increase of debt ratio. Unfortunately, current situation regarding this subject could not be found from the 10K of McDonalds.

4. What is the effect of the change in receivables on cash flows from operating activities for the most recent year?
When account receivable decreases the cash flow increases and vice versa when account receivable increases. It is because when there is an increase in receivable cash collection is promised for the future. The decrease of receivable means
