NIGHTMARE MUSIC THEME begins as we FADE UP on a SERIES OF SHOTS,
all CLOSE and teasing.
-- A mans FEET, in shabby work shoes, stalking
through a junk bin in a dark, fire-lit, ash-
dusted place. A huge BOILER ROOM is what it
is, although we only glimpse it piecemeal.
Then we SEE a MANS HAND, dirty and nail-bitten,

FADE IN:
MAIN TITLE SEQUENCE -- BLACK
INTERCUT -- QUICK FLASH-FORWARDS
INSIDE A STEAMY SHOWER -- A wet naked woman and man wrapped
around each other in ecstasy -- legs, arms, hair, mouths.
BLACK -- MORE TITLES -- then
Moonlight reflects on a vehicles shiny surface. FISTS THUD into
flesh. O.S. -- a man slams of the hood, rebounds away.
BLACK -- MOR
is applied to a paper mache surface, and a popsicle stick is pressed into place. (We are TOO TIGHT to see the object being constructed.)
CLOSEUP - KRISTEN PARKER
Kristen (16) is strikingly pretty, despite the dark, tired circles under her eyes. Shes exhausted, but desperately trying to stay awake. She wears pajamas and robe.
Her head nods, her eyelids close. She snaps herself awake.
CLOSEUP - THE
In the F.G. CLAUDETTE is looking for someone. Claudette is 17 years old. She is pretty. She wears a t-shirt with "Assistant Counsellor" written on it. She fills out the shirt very well.
Failing to find whomever she is looking for, Claudette walks quickly in the opposite direction.
The CAMERA holds on the game for a few seconds and we SUPERIMPOSE:
"JULY 4, 1958"
The CHILDRENS VOICES FADE slowly.
CREDITS: White lettering over a back background. The THUNDEROUS SOUNDS OF A MASSIVE NAVAL BARRAGE are heard. The power is astonishing. It roars through the body, blows back the hair and rattles the ears.
FADE IN:
ext. Omaha Beach - normandy - dawn
The ROAR OF NAVAL GUNS continues but now WE SEE THEM FIRING. Huge fifteen inch guns.

We dont know if its night or day. Its just black.
And maybe...maybe intermittent SPARKS racing by. So quick we barely
perceive them. Like the sparks you imagine when your eyes are closed.
BREATHING,
slow and hollow, filling up the entire world. Its eerie as hell. A
feeling of utter loneliness.
