EXT. NEAR THE GERMAN FRONT - 180 A.D. - DAWN
The rising sun unveils steep hills and luxuriant mountains
untouched by man. Snow flurries dart in the frigid air
and on the horizon CROWS gather.
EXT. DIRT ROAD
A column of Praetorian Cavalry flank two enclosed wagons
as they rattle along a rock and log accordion road. On
all sides
TRAIN WHEELS grinding against track, slowing. FOLDING TABLE LEGS scissoring open. The LEVER of a train door being pulled. NAMES on lists on clipboards held by clerks moving alongside the tracks.

His room is monochromatic, greys and blues, mildly high-tech. Were in the present day and this is a middle class house, somewhere in the suburbs.

A FIGURE IN A SANTA CLAUS SUIT
lies face-down in a nighttime expanse of snow. One of the bodys
red-sleeved arms is twisted at a sickening angle. The white snow
beneath the figure is spreading with red.
REVEAL EXT. SNOWY ROAD - NIGHT
The figure in the suit lies motionless. Snowflakes drift.
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT
Dark, rustic wood, an office with broken window
"THE BASE"

EXT. BORDER CHECKPOINT -- DAY
Cars filled with tourists move slowly through the checkpoint
into Mexico. On the American side: clean uncrowded streets.

EXT. TIAJUNA, MEXICO -- DAY
But just across the border: crowds, garbage everywhere,
buildings crammed together on pot holed streets. It seems
darker, more dangerous. Everything has a touch of evil.
