BLACKNESS
1 THE ELECTRONIC WORLD 1
On one side of the screen, computer programming language is being
printed, and we HEAR the sound of an electronic keyboard. In the
center of the screen, glowing lines inscribe a rough computer
simulation of a figure, in response to the
electronics.
As a small group of refined, well-groomed SCIENTISTS studiously examine the removed panel, their intense concentration is periodically disrupted by the hysterical guffaws of a nearby group of three uniformed SECURITY GUARDS, who appear to be refugees from the Neolithic period.
The Guards, totally oblivious to the Scientists, are regaling each other with pitiful and infantile jokes.

WHAT THEY ARE WATCHING: A distant SALVAGE SHIP, moored inside the harbor. Its hoist is swung out over the sea. Floodlights illumine salvage divers as they submerge with hoist cables.

The five year olds eagerly raise their hands. The teacher points to one.
