아랍어 성문화(成文化)는 언어적인 필요성과 함께 이슬람 제국의 확장과 이에 따른 비 아랍인들의 개종에 의해 이슬람 제국이 복합 인종으로 구성됨으로써 이슬람 제국의 단결과 효과적인 통치를 위한 정치와 종교적 요인 등 언어 외적인 필요성과 함께 시작되었다.
