1. SCM(Supply Chain Management) Innovation
Hyundai Motor Company has pushed ahead an innovation over SCM sector from early 2000. The company built VAATZ system to promote smooth communication with subcontractor. It also started the APS(Advanced Planning & Scheduling) project of Sales and Production Planning Section, which was a toehold for SCM. Enterprise Process Innovation(PI) was begun to support a system capable of producing and sales over 6 million vehicles from 2005. Especially, a traditional push strategy(producer-based method) was switched to a pull strategy(customer-based mothod) in the SCM part.

2. Trying to upgrade the quality through 6-sigma methodology
The 6-sigma movements started in earnest on November 1999. Hyundai Motor have trained 3500 experts of black belt and green belt, and attained several its goals;3800 projects, cost savings up to 180 billion dollar. The 6-sigma movements has expanded from developing a new vehicle to a work process improvement thanks to a integration of DFSS(Design for Six Sigma), which belongs to a research department and 6-sigma related tasks of both Hyundai•Kia manufacturing sector and their partners. President Jung changed the company’s decision-making system that makes new vehicles be on sale after 1 ~ 2 months of “quality verification” steps. Before applying 6-sigma movements, it started selling products right after deciding a mass production of new line. Furthermore, ‘Quality Assurance System’, the step-by-step procedure that every step should satisfy its own quality goals, was adopted to maximize its products’ quality.

3. BPRM(Business Partner Relationship Management) Operation.
Hyundai Motor Company operates a global technical cooperation program, “BPRM”. BPRM is a integrative framework for building a global R&D network and operating technical cooperation activities systematically.

4. Innovation of Logistics management system by RFID
Hyundai Motor Company upgraded logistics procure system with its partners using RFID(Radio-Frequency Identification). Advantages of RFID are :
① Can attain an exact quantity of component boxes quickly
② Can offer a position-tracking service of vehicles
③ Help predict arrival time and possible working hours
