Miss Helen Slingsby was my maiden aunt,And lived in a small house near a fashionable squareCared for by servants to the number of four.

The narrator mentioned just about her house and her servants not about her character, so that the readers’ attention moves to surroundings.

The narrator thinks that her house is small.
And she has 4 servants.

Now when she died there was silence in heavenAnd silence at her end of the street.

We can recognize her death only from this line.
There is no detail explanation about her death after these lines.
“Silence” means indifferent atmosphere around her death.

In these lines, the narrator mentioned the death directly. We can guess the narrator’s attitude toward her.
