From the Spring and Autumn Period
of China 722–481 BC (Sun-tzu's lifetime)
through 1780~1831 (Carl von Clausewitz's
life time) to a future war on the Korean
Peninsula.
Variation of tactics(九變) The general who thoroughly understands the advantages that accompany variation of tactics, knows how to handle his troops.
Military march(行軍) Understand well the enemy. Solidify union of the army through skillful command. And then you can win by gathering force of the army.
Terrain(地形) If the army know understanding of topography, help from heaven, can gain a intact victory.
Nine varieties of ground
(九地) Create favorably the situation by strategic geography that formed between the army and the enemy.
Attacking with fire(火攻) Attack with fire in order to take all the enemy's strength. To burn soldiers in their camp, stores, baggage trains, arsenals and magazines, and formation of the enemy.
The use of spies Victory or defeat of a war depends on the use of spies because spies are basis of information acquisition.
