Have you imagined that you lose your one of legs because of landmine or that a lot of landmines are planted near your house? Although you want to run away from the landmine threats, you don’t know where they are planted. How can you save yourself? Of course, we are far from the imagination but it is real life to some people.
Lots of people in the world have injured or killed by landmines. The damage of the victims is serious.

The reason that we choose this topic is to let us be aware of landmine issue that we don’t know well and to look into a NGO which has tried to campaign banning landmines and has influenced countries to make some polices about landmine.

OK. Look at the map which shows where landmines are planted in the world. Many landmines were planted during WWI and WWII. And landmines in Africa have been planted due to civil wars.
According to a research survey, There are an estimated 110 million active mines scattered in over 70 countries. 2,000 people are involved in landmine accidents every month - one victim every 20 minutes. Around 800 of these will die, the rest will be maimed. And About 100,000 mines are removed each year, but until recently 2 million more were being planted each year.
