LCD Panel can’t emit light by itself.
So, We need backlight unit to emit light.
TFT Array - Controls quantity of traveling light
Liquid crystal (core of substance) – Controls the brightness of light
Color Filter Array – Controls the color of light
Back light – Emits the light
OLED emits light passing current through organic materials.
TFT Array – Controls the current .
Anode & Cathode – Performs a role like anode & cathode of battery.
ENCAP(Encapsulation Glass) – Blocks air and moisture to prevent spoiling.
Uses external light except Backlight or spontaneous light.
Color filter
inside glass substrate controls the color of light
E-ink
Light penetrates through (+) particle inside E-ink easily.
(-) particle absorbs light inside E-ink easily.

Advantages
1. Good fabrication - Rugged , bending , rollable
2. Thin thickness
3. Light weight
4. Strong for impact
5. Possibility of continuous processing
Disadvantages
1. Battery
2. Limitation of color expression

4. Weak thermal resistance
Limitation of Commercialization
Life time
PC monitor’s lifetime is 100,000 hours.
But, lifetime of E-paper is only 10000 ~ 20000 hours .
Ability to color of E-paper
Limitation of color materialization.
Processes
Hard to materialize as printing method of roll-to-roll
Increase in lifetime
Prevention from penetration of water and moisture.
Formation of color layer having conductivity in the display.
Improvement of Process efficiency through roll-to-roll sputter.
