Starting with the brief overview, we’ll discuss the industry since 1940. Of course there was a concept ‘logistics’, however it wasn’t enough to call it a industry.
So, around 1940, the military logistics during the world wars. This is when logistics gained huge importance all over the world.
and in the middle of the 1950s and 1960s, the sea container was invented. It had a huge impact on logistics as all of you already know.
And then JIT logistics concept was developed in 1970, QR and ECR technologies in 1990s, and today, the SCM and advanced globalization.
