1. Globalization
1) Concept
- The process of increasing interconnectedness between lots of societies all over the world.
- The Events in one region of the world have effects on peoples and societies far away.
- The spread of ideas, cultures, and information is faster than ever through development of communication and transport technologies
- Not only state governments but also International organizations, non-governmental organizations, transnational companies, terrorist groups are the important actors in global stages.
- Internationalization and globalization are different in that internationalization considers the discrete national units with boundaries still exist while globalization considers that boundaries between the domestic and the external become blurred.

- In Politics: The Lybian revolution in 2011
- In Society: Global efforts to solve societal problems such as infectious diseases, environmental problems.

2. Regionalization
1) Concept
- High levels of interaction within a region.
- Regionalization has the two components : 'cooperation' and 'integration'
- Trade, financial flows, similar cultures in a certain region are important indicators of regionalization

- In Society: The Korean wave in Asia
- In Economy: APEC, NAFTA
* Regionalization is not paradox or contradiction to globalization but regional efforts to accommodate its member countries within the globalized world order.
