His purpose was to have sex. After having a conflict, some women agreed to that to feed people. Although some of the ladies knew how their husbands would feel if they went ward 3 for the proposal, they reached to a decision that food for people outweighs humiliation they would have after having unwanted sex. When people talk about deviation, they usually talk about something like a married guy flirting with a woman. However, in this case, the ladies never intended to have that kind of deviation: having sex with the people in ward 3 for food. Still, their decision would not be normally accepted. Their husbands strongly refused to the decision, too. But they decided to have sex to feed people and survive.
