hwpHello, my name is Lee, and I am an elementary school student residing in Seoul. The seed of my dream to become a figure skater was planted when I witnessed the remarkable victory of Kim Yuna at the Vancouver Olympics, triumphing over Japan's Mao Asada. That moment, shared with me by my mother, ignited a spark within me, inspiring me to pursue figure skating. As a result, I took my first steps onto the ice in the first grade of elementary school.
One thing that sets me apart is my natural flexibility. Doing splits is effortless for me, and the spins, like the elephant's trunk or the camel spin, do not make me feel dizzy. Wearing figure skates feels as natural as if they were an extension of my own feet, and practicing on the ice rink has always been exhilarating and far from intimidating.
Presently, I engage in training six times a week, dedicating an average of seven hours each day to honing my skills. Among the myriad of moves, my favorites are the double axel and the triple salchow. These elements challenge and captivate me, pushing me to refine and perfect them continually.
My ultimate goal is to represent my nation, competing in international competitions and earning accolades akin to the accomplishments of Yuna Kim. Her grace and prowess have been a guiding light in my journey. Yet, beyond personal victories, I envision a future where I transition into a role of mentorship and leadership. I aspire to become a top coach akin to the likes of Canada's esteemed coach, John Nicks, who played a pivotal role in guiding Kim Yuna towards the gold medal.
But my aspirations don’t cease there. I dare to dream even bigger—to contribute to the world of sports governance. I envision myself as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where I can contribute to the development and enhancement of sports on a global scale.
In essence, my dream stretches beyond personal accomplishments; it encompasses a journey of self-growth, mentorship, and a commitment to the greater global athletic community. Through dedication, perseverance, and a passion for figure skating, I aim to turn this dream into a reality.
