본문내용
Social development in Marxism is regulated by a productivity of a certain stage and the relationship of production, and it goes through economic, structural, and historical approaching process. What the substructure decides as structural determinism and all societies’ history, it is claimed that the economic relationship of understanding and the form of the economy needs to be changed through historical development of the class struggle.
Marx did not explain in detail about the regulations of class difference but it could be said that his idea was not used with one meaning but had several notions crossing boundaries. In a social relationship of production, class starts to form according to possession/non-possession of means of production and an individual’s role gets decided in a labor organization. In other words, through this, the relationship of the controlling and the controlled, and the relationship of the exploiting and the exploited are formed. Therefore, the existence of the opposing classes regulates the social structure’s basic characteristic. The society was always formed by the two big opposing classes. For example, in terms of history, a slave society has the relationship of the slave owner and the slave, a feudal society has the relationship of the lord and the serf, and a capitalist society has the relationship of the bourgeois and the proletariat.
In a capitalist society the laborer (proletariat) sells his own labor in order to keep his living and the financier (bourgeois) will pay a price to buy labor in order to profit in production and continue on with the exploitation. This kind of relationship will never come close and will be left as a class struggle. Pursuing the formation of socialist/communist society is to make a society without class difference and this is the mission of the proletariats. This type of development where class→class conflict→class struggle→pursuit of class, is seen as the rule of historical development.
