음운현상 (Phonological Processes)
When morphemes are combined to form words, the segments of neighboring morphemes become juxtaposed and sometimes undergo change. Consider the morphologically related forms electri[c], electri[ca]l, electri[ci]ty, and fanati[c], fanati[ca]l, fanati[ci]sm. Here the final k of electric and fanatic becomes s before a morpheme beginning with i. Changes also occur in environments other than those in which two morphemes come together..... All such changes will be called phonological processes. (Schane (1973: 49), Generative Phonology)
