★of which 는 다소 딱딱한 표현 ★ which 는 앞 문장 전체가 선행사 일 수도 있음
3.관계사의 특징
1)관계사는 형용사
The police have found the boy.
Which/ what boy? The boy who?
The police have found the boy who(that) disappeared last week.
2)관계사는 관계대명사
관계사는 뒷 문장에서 명사역할을 함. 고로 주어,목적어,보어,전명구의 명사를 대신 함.
관계대명사+( )술어 목적어 Do you know the student who won the first prize in the contest?
주어,술어 ( ) That is the woman whom I met yesterday.
주어,술어 (보어) I am not a lazy girl that you think I am.
주어,술어 전치사 (명사) This is the first woman that I fell in love with.
뒷 문장에서 대명사 역할을 해준다는 것은 관계절에 다른 대명사가 필요없다는 것.
그러므로 다음과 같은 문장은 비문이다.
*The man I saw him was very rude.
3) 관계사는 접속사 - 문장과 문장을 연결해 주기 때문에
Jack made a table. And it’s not very strong.
The table that Jack made is not strong.
A bus crashed. And it was 23 years old.
The bus which crashed was 23 years old.

4.관계사의 해석 - 관계사에 해당하는 명사 넣기

(선행사가 최상급, the only, all, every, any, no, the very, the same/ 의문사 다음/ 선행사가 사람+동물,사물/ 선행사가 anything, something, nothing, all, which, little..)

2) That 을 안쓰는 경우
① Barbara works for a company that/which makes washing machines.
② Brad told me about his new job, that/which he’s enjoying very much.
