They innovate
Businesses usually begin with an entrepreneur having an idea for a product or service. They want to fill a gap or need they think exists in the market. The British inventor Trevor Baylis was innovative in creating a clockwork radio that did not need batteries. This filled a need in developing countries where people got lots of news and education from the radio but where they did not have the money for batteries.
They organise
As stated above, entrepreneurs organise the factors of production to produce goods and services. The entrepreneur often makes decisions about the location of premises, the method of production, product design, prices and wages. If the business grows then some of these tasks may be passed to other employees to handle. This is called delegation.
