1. The motive of institute visit

We have known the KFHI(Korea Food for the Hunger Intervention) since one of the team members is a supporter to this institute. The KFHI is international NGO and is composed of domestic business and many abroad business as well. Since this institute is supporting about 80 countries in the world, it was considered that it is corresponding to the class of international social welfare. Thus, we visited this institute to experience by observation in person and understand practically.

2. Introduction of institute

The KFHI is international NGO established in 1971 based on the Christian faith. It informs the global hungry situation in the world, and supports the life and independence of the hungry. The KFHI is registered in UN ECOSOC as the qualification of consultant position.
Also, it is supporting development and urgent relief activities by sending ‘hungry corps’ that is the abroad relief development volunteer to the hungry country.
It starts the giving NGO era established as ‘abroad supporting NGO’ that is the first in Korea in 1989 from the receiving NGO.
It performs the welfare business for broken family, elder who lives alone, and the disabled, and supports the development of water resources, meal project, and the supporting to North Korea.
