Sensitivity Analysis is a process whereby the soundness or robustness of the results and conclusions of economic evaluations are tested by varying the underlying assumptions and variables over a range of plausible values

Purpose of Sensitivity Analysis

Used to determine the effect of data uncertainty, or assumptions, on study conclusions

Used to identify the most important study assumptions

Situation when Sensitivity Analysis should be used

1) Data elements are uncertain because no figures are available
and estimates must be used
2) Data elements are not precise
3) Data elements are unknown
because of pharmacoeconomic methodology controversies
