제일모직은 1989년 유럽풍 트래디셔널을 컨셉트로 한국인의 생활에 맞게 절충시킨 빈폴을 탄생시켰다. 당시 국내 의류업계는 OEM 생산 위주의 풍토였고 외국 수입브랜드가 시장을 장악하고 있었다. 고유 브랜드를 출범시켜 성공하기란 여간 어려운 일이 아니었다.
