3. Share the partner’s health condition and your advice with the class.
- Class arrangement: Pair work
- Type of Skills: Reading+Speaking+Listening
- How the activity is done: Students read the following questions and ask the questions to their partner and mark partner’s health condition. When they get their partner’s health score, it is time to give advice to their partner by using expressions such as ‘Why don’t you…?’ ‘You should…’ ‘If I were you…’ After that, one or two students make a short presentation about what their partner’s score is and what they advise to do.
- Intention: By asking questions to each other, students could be more familiar with the topic. It is an activity of gathering student’s interests by using almost whole language skills. They read and ask the questions, and listen to what their partner answers. After that, they have a chance to share their advice. They can have discussion about personal concerns on health. Moreover, they can share what they share with their partner with all class members through a short presentation. This activity is useful in that increases students’ interest on the topic and give a lot of opportunities to have an authentic and unrehearsed conversation while interacting each other.


4. Activity 2
This activity is designed to give students opportunities to listen to an authentic conversation related to the topic of the lesson. Students have to use the expressions used in the previous activity, by listening and writing.
