Before we start, It is premised that the whole concept of this book 'The great transformation' is so profound that we could not understand whole contents. Before we concentrate on the subject dealing with, we would like to make a short review on this book. This book, 'The great transformation' was published in 1944, written by Karl Polanyi. The author was born in rich family, and grew up with siblings who thought about the real alternative society. After he published this book, he moved to Columbia and lived his life as a professor in the university majored in cultural anthropology. At the beginning of the book, he gives a compliment to Peter Drucker who did not agree with the content of the book, but gave Polanyi a lot of motivations to support him. According to the Peter Drucker, the great notion of the Karl Polanyi came into failure, and the author of this book, Karl Polanyi himself also failed to find an alternative for existing society and spent rest of his life in the deep loss of finding hope for human being.
