The Metamorphosis is a very imaginative story. Its series of events are very dependent upon circumstantial situations. Because of this trait of the piece, there is a lot of symbolism. “The Metamorphosis is an autobiographical piece of writing, and we find that parts of the story reflect Kafka's own life. It is well known that Kafka felt like an insect in his father's authoritative presence and even developed a stammer while speaking to him (Gradesaver, 7).” This story is very symbolic in many ways to the point I can say this story might have been written from Franz Kafka’s experiences. The biggest meaning or lesson of the story probably comes from the transformation of Gregor. Gregor’s transform is what probably created the story. The meaning Franz Kafka tries to convey of the transformation to the reader is very special.
