Hypothesis1
The participants who have strong gender bias in judging political competence will show significantly more response in the anteromedial PFC and rostral ACC during the congruent trials, whereas the amygdala and dorsolateral PFC will show more response during the incongruent trials. Also, the biased participants are more likely to choose a candidate based on gender and less likely to change their decision even after the additional information about the candidates' policies is provided.
The Experiment 2 was conducted in order to further explore the potential
influence of gender bias on voting behavior.
The aim of this experiment was to find out whether gender-related facial
characteristics affect on voters' judgment regardless of candidates' biological
gender and whether this process shares similar neural basis with
experiment 1.
Thus, male and female candidates are divided into two groups respectively
depending on their facial characteristics - feminine and masculine looking
groups.
