G market is now using “MS SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition” as a main Database Management system. The DBMS, which is a core part of the IT infrastructure, is hosted on an HP Superdome server computer and enables easy data managing. This software efficiently supports G market’s $2 billion in annual sales and transaction rates of up to 23,000 batch requests a second.
Furthermore, G market developed its own Database analyzing system. Using a value of the function and accumulated data, user can get an output. Since this system is used for a long time and freely interlocks among existing databases, it provides high reliability.
1.3 Database structure in G market
G market has 3 main databases –Member DB, Item DB and Order DB-. The structure and details for each DB will be followed.
2. HARDWARE
2.1 Hybrid Server 1550ST embedded with SSD
G market currently introduced “Hybrid Server 1550ST” embedded with SSD from “OpenNetService”. With SSD and the ONS’s unique raid controller, the server speed was increased to 600 MB/s~1000MB/s (1GB/s). Also, after G market introduced this server, the company could reduce the server space and maintenance cost. G market is currently using this hybrid server mainly on customer information part and planning to adopt this server to other parts.
2.2 TMX5000
G market uses a device named “TMX 5000” located on the front side of web application server. This device accelerates SSL speed, balances the server load, and conducts security function at the same time. It is very important for the company to maintain its high level of security and fast response speed. However, since the transaction speed gets slower when online transaction uses SSL(Secure Socket Layer) protocol, G market adopted “TMX 5000” as a web accelerator. This device helped to improve security transaction performance by 5 times, and reduce server load.
3. SOFTWARE
3.1 Web Software_ WISELOG
G market uses CRM software named “Wiselog” provided by “Nethru” company. This program analyzes click pattern, key words, influx/purchase scenario, and many other data. It also manages and provides various measuring indexes using packet sniffing, script way, and server log way. Since these kinds of information are so volatile and extensive that costs a lot to deal with, G market outsourced and uses data analysis software.
Using this data analysis from the “Wiselog” program, G market can provide the service that meets the customer needs and understand consumer behavior in depth. Combing these information with their existing database, G market can use this source to CRM. This procedure will explained in the following parts.
3.2 ISP& ESCROW&SSL
To ensure the security of E-commerce, G market provides some security program for transaction. This is represented by ISP, ESCROW service. Also, there is a SSL protocol that is used to protect the private information and credit card information.
