4.3 System
First, MBC holds a performance-related pay (bonus) of which measurement methods consist of personal assessment of boss, ratings and general comments. Secondly, as to information system, online system is installed now. Information like money spent and budget is refined and then transferred to manager, and minor information is shared by every member. Third, planning and budgeting, the board of directors decides it lastly, however, the office of planning(기획실) makes a close inspection of it before it goes under the control of the board. If the plan exceeds the budget, the plan undergoes deliberation. Fourth, contents distribution system, the ground-wave(지상파) contents are distributed from the center(Seoul) to the locals(지방사) in correspondence with the contract each local had made with the center.

4.4 Style
First, in regarding to leadership style, every employee has the right to participate in making decisions, but some big and important decisions that need confidentiality are decided by top managers, which means that it is certain that the style of MBC in decision-making is not a type of ‘Top-Down’, but mostly a type of ‘Down-Top’. This feature is strongly related to free working-atmosphere. We can also notice this from the interview with PD of “무릎팍도사”. According to him, the process of making TV programs is not wholly decided by the command of the headquarters, rather, it’s decided very freely like simply saying, “how about making program about Amazon?”.
As to time spent by managers, they rarely have formal meetings. Instead, managers spend their most time with the works that are related to the characteristics of their own departments. For instance, journalists and producers spend lots of time interviewing people and making more personal connections with celebrities respectively.

4.5 Shared Value
As to vision of MBC, it holds two reasons of their existence; ‘Independence and Impartiality in Broadcasting(MBC pledges to Viewers)’ and ‘Optimizing Profits’(MBC is owned by the public(70%) and the private(30%), thus it has difficulty in making enough profits). The members understand first reason very well, and we can notice this from the fact that Labor Union went on strike few days ago. In terms of the values shared in the company, MBC is affected not by the values of company itself, but by the social majority’s values. In fact, the top boss of MBC is replaced depending on the president of Korea. MBC also tries to differentiate their program quality and provide ‘Brave press coverage(용감한 언론보도)’ to the public



4.6 Skills
MBC is a public broadcaster whose largest shareholder is the Foundation for Broadcast Culture, a public organization but they also operates on the basis of advertising revenue. The FBC, which holds 70% of MBC shares, was created on December 31, 1988. They helped to free MBC from external constraints, thus resulting in greater independence of the Korean broadcasting industry.
MBC’s sophisticated sports broadcasting technology and know-how drew enormous audience to MBC during the 2002 and 2006 World Cup, capturing the highest ratings nationwide. MBC aims to rise as globally competitive sports broadcaster. For this end, MBC has established MBC/ESPN Star Sports in partnership with ESPN Star Sports. The sports channel offers top international sporting events to the Korean audience via cable and satellite platforms. Only MBC is also running cable channel specializing in games among three main broadcasters. Opened in 2001, ‘GEMBC’ started to work actively as taking the right to broadcast World Cyber Games, and grew one of the most preferred game channels with ‘On game net’. After 2003, they changed their name, ‘GEMBC’ to MBC/GAME now.
