Goal: Right parts, Right amount, Right time
1) Continuous Flow
: Eliminating the congestion of parts within a process or between processes and achieving sequential flow production
2) Takt Time
: A given time that one product should be manufactured based on the leveling of production
3) Pull System
: A system that eliminates under or over production by limiting production to those parts demanded by the next downstream process
Objectives
1) Building in quality at the process
: capable of making intelligent decisions and shutting down automatically at the first sign of an abnormality :better to stop a machine at the first sign of trouble than to keep on exaggerating the problem
2) Enable separation of man and machine in work environment
: Jidoka frees people from being tied to machines because of monitoring
:puts people to use in a more value added fashion
3) Prevent injury to employees or damage to equipments
