Starbucks
Starbucks Coffee Korea is a joint venture between Shinsegae Co., Ltd. and Starbucks Coffee International Inc., the international arm and subsidiary of Starbucks CoffeeCompany, the leading retailer, roaster and brand of specialty coffee in the world.
Starbucks Coffee Korea was established with the idea of bringing to Korea the Starbucks Coffee store experience and the new coffee and espresso culture that had proved so successful in North America. Since the opening of our first store on July 27, 1999, in the Edae district of Seoul, our network has expanded rapidly throughout the country.
Starbucks 10th store in Korea opened in November 2000 in the Yoksam-dong and will be open 85 stores in 2003.
Starbucks Coffee and Shinsegae combine their marketing skills and know-how to develop a new type of coffee store, offering new lifestyle concepts. At each store, our experienced baristas carefully prepare each cup of quality coffee and espresso, according to the specific tastes of the customer.
