The high-income group purchases an average of 40% more per visit than the typical shopper.
So Wal-Mart Stores should make efforts to enhance high-quality
image in goods composition that can fulfill preference of high-income shoppers.
To do so, concretely, Wal-Mart Stores should make high-grade
PB(Private Brand) goods in foodstuff and living necessaries.
By doing that, Wal-Mart Stores can increase consumption of
high-income shoppers continuously in a recovery.
Wal-mart knows exactly what mexicans need and how to provide it to them.
Most people preferred to buy fresh products at local stores.
Wal-mart adjusted its strategy to meet the local conditions,
Wal-mart could lower its own costs, and it passed these savings on to Mexican consumers in the form of lower prices.
The customization, persistence, and low prices paid off. Mexicans started to change their shopping habits.
Wal-Mart , which entered the country in 1996, put off South Korean consumers by sticking to Western marketing strategies that
concentrated on dry goods, from electronics to clothing, while their
local rivals focused on food and beverages, the segment that
specialists say attracts South Koreans to hypermarkets.
Wal-Mart sold products by the box, while E-Mart and Lotte built
eye-catching displays and hired clerks who hawked their goods
with megaphones and hand-clapping.
The main factor of wal-mart's failuer is that they couldn't adapt
the different behavior of Korea consumer from consumer of Western
Wal-Mart knew what chinese want and need. For example, they
are bargain hunters and open to the low-price strategy and wide
selection offered at Wal-Mart stores.
Wal-Mart also found they had to adapt its merchandising and
operations strategy in order to mesh with Chinese culture.
Wal-Mart has also learned that to succeed in China, the company must embrace unions.
