The Great Novelists who is from India, Salman Rushdie
1. Introduction
India Movies are well known to us. However, India novels are not well known as India films. There are also many great novels and famous novelists in India. Throughout the history, there have been great novelists who were from India in the world. In American or British literature, there are many novels which are written by the novelists who are from India.
Salman Rushdie is one of the novelists who had a strong influence on British Literature. Actually, I got a chance to read Salman Rushdie's novel in British Novel class. It was really interesting and I began to have interest in Indian novelists. In this manner, I am going to introduce Salman Rushdie and cover his novels briefly in this short essay.
2. Who is Salman Rushdie?
Salman Rushdie is a British-Indian novelist and essayist. He was born in Bombay, 1947. He worked for two advertising agencies (Ogilvy & Mather and Ayer Barker) before becoming a full-time writer.
He won the Booker Prize in 1981. Most of his fiction are based on the Indian Subcontinent. The style of his fiction is often classified as magical realism. The theme of his fiction is the story of migrations between the Eastern and Western Worlds.
