1. Introduction

Doosan took the first step in its history in 1896 when Park Seung-jik opened a small, modern store in Jongro. From this first store, they continued to build on that success. Now Doosan group has the longest business history in Korea and successfully transformed to be the ISB (Infrastructure Support Business) leader. It currently has 115 subsidiaries in 34 countries and also over 42,000 employees are working for Doosan. Doosan Heavy Industries, Doosan Infracore, Doosan Capital are the major subsidiaries.
2. Business philosophy
Doosan’s Business philosophy, the Doosan Way is their unique way of doing business. It is a value-based management system, and it guides as they work to reach their company’s aspirations and fulfill their vision. There are two key components of the Doosan Way: the Aspiration and the Doosan Credo.

#Aspiration - Doosan’s ultimate goal is the creation of a Proud Global Doosan. In its Vision, each of their employees will benefit from, and be proud of their association with Doosan. Every employee takes great pride in being a member of Doosan.

#Doosan credo - The Doosan Credo focuses on their responsibilities to people. The Doosan Credo is at the heart of the Doosan Way: its values guide the way they do business, the way they treat each other, and the way they work with all of their members.

Based on their business philosophy, Doosan has been carrying out 2G strategy which represents the growth of people by growth of business. The growth of people emphasizes 3 things. First, respect people. Doosan have respect for people and do not regard people as means to achieve corporate performance.
