(57) Abstract: PURPOSE: A safety device for pedestrians walking on a pedestrian crossing is provided to provide safety to pedestrians by automatically opening the pedestrian crossing during walking signal and by blocking the pedestrian crossing during stop signal to prevent the pedestrians illegal crossing. CONSTITUTION: A safety device for pedestrians walking on a pedestrian crossing includes a plurality of vertical frames(10) having both ends laid under a footway corresponding to both lines of a pedestrian crossing and having a hollow pipe, a plurality of horizontal frame(20) separated from the vertical frames in prescribed intervals and connected to the vertical frames in a horizontal direction, a motor(30) mounted at an inner opposite position of the vertical frame and having a driving gear(31), a guide bar(40) mounted at an inner opposite position of the horizontal frame and moving back and forth by the driving force of the motor, and controlling means(50) having an end electrically connected to the motor and the other end electrically connected to a signal light to sense signal of the signal light and perform forward and reverse rotation of the motor.[7] COPYRIGHT 2001 KIPO
