한국어 교육에서 다의어 교육의 필요성은 말할 나위도 없다. 단, 현행 한국어 교재를 두루 살펴본 뒤, 다의어 관련 교육 내용이 체계적으로 다루어지지 않는다는 것을 쉽게 발견할 수 있다. 그러므로 본고는 다의 동사 '가다'를 예시로 각 교재의 '가다'의 의미 제시에서 두루 존재하는 문제들을 찾아내고 '가다'의 대응 표현 등을 충분히 고려해 재분류된 '가다'의 의미 범주들에 바탕을 두고 문제점을 보완하는 다의어 의미 제시 방안을 구축하는 시도를 하였다. 교재 분석을 진행하기 전에 '가다'의 의미에 대한 검토를 먼저 하였다.
